FTZ World Services is the licensed operator of the Miami Free Trade Zone, which allows clients to move goods in and out of North America by direct sea, land or air links.The Miami Free Trade Zone (FTZ #32) opened for business on April 19th, 1979. Since then, Miami has grown into a hub for international commerce between Latin America, Asia and Europe with the Miami Free Zone serving as its epicenter. Global suppliers, distributors, logistics companies and buyers have benefited over the past 30 years by utilizing the facility as a critical component of their supply chains.
Today, the Miami Free Zone boasts over 80 companies operating within approximately 825,000 sq. ft. of mixed-use office, showroom and warehouse facilities and over $950 million in merchandise passed through the Miami Free Zone during fiscal year 2009. The project facilitated about 1,700 jobs directly involved in the FTZ #32 project.
Miami Free Zone is located on approximately 47 acres of designated foreign trade zone land. The Zone has un-paralleled infrastructure including communication systems, fiber optics, security, and easy access to highways, rail, sea, and air transportation. The permanent facilities include the following:
- Two efficient warehouse distribution buildings, each containing approximately 330,000 square feet. The warehouses are of modular design with an approximate minimum rentable area of 4,444 square feet which includes one oversize dock-high loading door and approximately 820 square feet of mezzanine office space available for each such unit.
- Exhibition space is available in two showroom malls, each containing approximately 75,000 square feet. The showroom malls, located above the warehouses, are of modular design with a minimum rentable area of 786 square feet.
- The office building adjacent to the warehouses contains office and other commercial space.
- The Miami Free Zone includes the offices for US Customs & Border Patrol, along with several other federal agencies that are integral to trade facilitation and compliance.
- The facility is highly secure, with 24-hour perimeter-controlled, gated security access for cargo entrance, showroom and warehouse level, access control for employees and visitors, and digital surveillance technology.
